The results of our 2021 consumer survey show that respondents worldwide that own m-wallets prefer to use traditional payment methods such as bank cards and cash over m-wallets when shopping online. This is true for respondents in all regions surveyed including those in countries where operators are the leading mobile money players (such as Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Thailand). This constitutes a missed revenue opportunity for these operators.
