Under the Cisco Hybrid Cloud Networking umbrella, Cisco has used its software-defined networking (SDN) solution, ACI, to unify its networking tools. This approach allowed for consistent multi-cloud networking (MCN) across data centres, edge nodes and public cloud. However, the solution currently lacks integrated app-to-app networking capabilities and may struggle to extend its appeal beyond traditional network buyers.
