Prioritising international M2M targets

The problem

A European operator wanted to know which international M2M opportunities to target. The operator required recommendations on which vertical sectors and countries to focus on and help in identifying potential partners.

The solution

We developed a framework for assessing international opportunities. Based on this framework, and our assessment of the client’s strengths and weaknesses, we shortlisted three propositions.

For each proposition, we developed a forecast of revenue and connections.We also provided a list of potential partners (for example, M2M application developers) for our client.

Finally, we recommended a series of next steps for the client. These looked at how to gain connections in the short term, and how the operator should position itself for larger, long-term opportunities.

The result

Our client used the results to focus its sales, marketing and team structure for international opportunities. Our recommendations also allowed the M2M team to set realistic expectations for short-term growth in international connectivity.
