The problem

  • A fintech company focusing on digital consumer credit was looking to raise money via a Series C funding round. It engaged Analysys Mason to support this by performing a market study on the digital consumer credit opportunity across three major South-East Asian markets

The solution

  • We developed MS Excel models that projected the estimated digital consumer credit opportunity in the three selected markets and included data such as:
    • forecast of online and offline retail spend by age group
    • forecast of online and offline retail payments by type, including digital consumer credit
    • selected demographic and financial penetration metrics by age group
  • We then provided a report which included the following:
    • key drivers for growth in overall retail as well as specific e-commerce spend
    • opportunity for digital consumer credit in context of local market conditions (low credit card penetration; growing consumption demand)
    • selected case studies of digital consumer credit companies in other markets, including a comparison of their selected KPIs vs. the projections for the selected South-East Asian markets

The result

  • The client used the data from our MS Excel models as well as our report as key supporting information in its information memorandum, which it shared with potential investors – the client was able to successfully raise two separate rounds of funding during that same year

We were appointed by our client, a fintech company, to perform a market study on the digital consumer credit opportunity across three major South-East Asian markets which resulted in our client being able to successfully raise two separate rounds of funding during that same year
